What should I expect in a weight loss program?

In all high quality weight loss programs you should expect a custom program designed for your specific needs, program direction by licensed physician, frequent, ongoing direct consultation with a physician and medications limited to FDA approved options.

Why doesn’t Medical Weight Loss accept medical insurance plans for payment?

Because of the constantly evolving medical industry it is becoming increasingly more difficult to determine what is covered by your insurance and what is not covered. We do not want this uncertainty to stand in the way of providing proper treatment. Medical Weight Loss will continue to offer reasonable and affordable prices for all treatments and arrange financing when necessary.

How long will it take for me to lose weight?

Most patients lose between 7 and 10 pounds during the first two weeks. Weight loss after the second week is usually 1 to 2 pounds per week. Results will vary by patient.

How hungry will I feel during the program?

Our programs provide safe FDA approved medications to keep hunger pains to a minimum.

How much will it cost?

For most patients the initial visit with history, physical, labs, and EKG the cost will be less than $325. For patients using generic medications, the monthly cost after that should be less than $100 each month. For patients on a name brand medication, the cost will be more depending on your insurance co-payment for that medication.

Can’t I just take a pill and lose weight?

Weight loss medications are only effective when combined with lifestyle modification and a healthy, nutritionally balanced diet.

Will I have to spend thousands of dollars on meal replacements or shakes?

No, only if you choose to use a meal replacement plan for your convenience. We will provide you with diets sent to your smart phone or email that use food found in any grocery store.

Will I keep the weight off that I lose?

Many of our patients will tell you – they have lost the same 20 or 30 or even 50 lbs over and over again during their lifetime. During your treatment you will develop insight into to your unique situation that has caused you to be overweight. We will teach you how to monitor yourself, and if the weight starts to accumulate again, reinstitute therapy early to stop the weight gain. Obesity is a chronic disease and requires long term monitoring to control.
